Sicily is a tourist island which is enjoyable all year round. Many choose it in
winter to escape the cold winter in the north and immerse themselves in the local
culture like a “local”. Sea lovers will be able to fully enjoy the sea from mid-May
to mid-October. The many ethnic religious festivals, in spring and autumn, will be
an interesting guide to discover the most intriguing villages. Here, the climate is
decidedly Mediterranean, with hot summers and short mild winters. There are
2,500 hours of sunshine and a low abundance of rainfall which is concentrated in
the winter months. The average maximum temperature is 26°C (July-August),
The average minimum is 10°-14°C (December to February). The water
temperature goes from around 16°C in winter to 27°C in summer.
A recent ranking, compiled by the American network Virtual Tourist
poses Palermo in 5th place among the best producers of "street
food" in the world.
Sicily, culture and flavor... to be experienced.
